Consumption will sanction companies that do not return payment for services not provided
Companies that have stopped providing services due to the coronavirus pandemic, for which they have previously charged, will be penalized if they do not return the money to users.
This is assured by the Minister of Consumer Affairs, Alberto Garzón, in an interview with the newspaper El País in which he indicates that the Executive has agreed on a norm that gives priority in these cases to the understanding between the company and the consumer, but adds that, given the lack of agreement , the first is obliged to return the money.
And in the event that they do not "they will be committing a crime and they will have to be penalized," says the minister.
Garzón rules out that there is a risk of shortages of masks and bets on reindustrializing Spain once this health crisis passes to be able to produce "what we do not have an effective and quick response to in an emergency like this."
Regarding the possibility that people already take their summer vacations, he assures that "the prudent thing is not to anticipate events" since it is still unknown whether in summer the incidence of the pandemic will decrease.
He believes that if Europe is not capable of giving a collective response to the pandemic, inequality will increase, which can end the EU.
