Confebus stresses that the sector can lose 45 million by Thomas Cook

The Spanish Confederation of Bus Transportation (Confebus) has transferred to the administrations the concern about the bankruptcy of British tour operator Thomas Cook and stressed that this situation can lead to losses of 45 million in the discretionary and tourist transport by bus.

According to the confederation, and echoing the Exceltur data, losses of 200 million are estimated throughout the tourism sector, of which 120 million correspond to hotels and the rest to coach companies, rent-a-car.

Thus, a loss of 45 million euros is foreseen in the segment of discretionary and tourist transport by bus and coach, which represents 22.5% of the total impact estimate.

For their part, the unions have estimated the loss of jobs in the most affected areas of Spain by up to 10% due to the bankruptcy of Thomas Cook.
