Condemned to 10 years of prison for killing a man with a sacho in Gran Canaria – La Provincia

The Sixth Section of the Provincial Court of Las Palmas has condemned a man, who responds to the initials of D.J.S.R., to ten years in prison for a crime of murder by killing another with a sacho in The Gran Canarian palms.

This decision of the court becomes effective after the assessment issued by the jury, also interposing to the convicted the need to compensate the parents of the victim with 20,000 euros each.

Thus the sentence declares proven that on August 25, 2017, at 9:00 p.m., D.J.S.R. He got out of his car with a sacho, about a meter long, and with the metal piece installed, to "without provocation" begin to hit a parked vehicle inside which was the victim.

Subsequently, the victim left his tourism, moment in which D.J.S.R. He went to him and the now deceased "without being predictable given the lack of enmity between the two," D.J.S.R. hit him with the sacho in the head, causing the fall of the victim and fleeing from the place.

Due to the blow to the head the victim had injuries that eventually caused his death on September 1, 2017.
