Companies will be able to continue holding telematic meetings throughout 2021

Companies may continue to hold exclusively telematic meetings throughout 2021 as as they have been doing so far, according to the royal decree-law published this Saturday in the Official State Gazette (BOE).

The text states that the rule has considered "essential" that the capital companies regulated by Royal Legislative Decree 1/2010, of July 2, and the rest of the private law legal entities can continue to use telematic means.

In this way, the Government seeks to guarantee the rights of associates or minority partners who could not move physically to the venue of the meeting or assembly.

This decision has been published in Royal Decree-Law 5/2021, of March 12, which regulates extraordinary measures to support business solvency in response to the pandemic and which was announced yesterday after the extraordinary Council of Ministers.
