Companies earn 59.5% more until September for income and capital gains



The benefit of non-financial companies grew 59.5% between January and September with respect to the same period of 2017 due to the positive impact of income and extraordinary items, which were due to the sale of financial assets that generated significant capital gains.

According to the Central Balance Sheet of the Bank of Spain, published today, until September employment rose by 1.6%, which slowed down compared to 2017, and was driven mainly by the progress of hiring permanent staff, which increased 2%, while temporary employment showed very low growth.

The average remunerations experienced a slight increase during the first nine months of 2018 (1.5%), informed the general director of Economy and Statistics of the Bank of Spain, Óscar Arce, who highlighted how this rebound was mainly concentrated in sectors in which those that employment increased with less intensity (industry, commerce and hospitality).
