Communities will receive 103,000 million in financing this year
The spokeswoman of the Government, María Jesús Montero, announced on Tuesday that the Council of Ministers has approved to communicate to the autonomous communities that this year they will receive, in concept of deliveries to accounts, 103,000 million euros.
Deliveries on account are a mechanism that allows the autonomous communities of common regime (all, except Navarra and the Basque Country) to receive in advance part of the funds that correspond to them through the autonomous financing system. The blocking of them at the end of last year because the government was in office caused a confrontation between administrations. Finally it was achieved a solution that allowed to send this money to the autonomies.
In the press conference after the cabinet meeting, Montero said that, despite being still with the budgets extended from 2018, the autonomies need to know how much they can have to manage their public services.
He added that, when this year's budgets are approved, the amounts can be updated.
In his opinion, the contribution of these amounts implies "the commitment" of the Government to the financing of territorial entities and has encouraged the "conservative forces" to join the territorial dialogue.
For the minister, that the communities know the amounts they will receive in 2020 "it was urgent", because "they have to know the amounts released" for each one.
In addition, he added, the autonomies have also known today the final amounts of the settlement of 2018, which has reached 10,985 million euros, 4,833 more than the previous year.
