Nth open war in a pandemic between several communities with the Ministry of Health. This time, on account of the second dose of the nearly two million under 60s vaccinated against COVID-19 with a first puncture from AstraZeneca / Oxford between February and April. Both parts seemed to reach an agreement after a long meeting last Tuesday: give this group – professionals considered essential for the most part – a second dose of Pfizer, which was the option defended by the central government. It should begin to be applied “in the next few days”, but several autonomies that showed their disagreement in the meeting in which all the directors of Public Health participated, continue to insist on the rejection. Health then yielded to a third way, which would consist of studying the possibility that, if some citizens in that situation prefer it and give their consent, they can receive a second vial of AstraZeneca. The Ministry entrusted the Bioethics Committee of Spain with the preparation of a report to help decide if it is feasible. Work is being done on that report and, if there are no delays, it should be published this Friday, as explained by members of this body to elDiario.es.
