The organization of the La Santa Volcano Triathlon Club has decided to modify its date of celebration, initially scheduled for April of this year, although due to the rebound in coronavirus cases worldwide it has chosen to establish a new date, November 6, 2021 .
This change of date comes after the oldest triathlon in Spain could not be held in 2020 and after all triathletes have decided to keep their registration, athletes who will now also have the option to participate in the event on November 6, 2021 “without no charge “, as reported by the organization in a statement.
In this regard, the Director of the Course and Head of Sports at Club La Santa, Fabrio Cabrera, justified this decision in the “exceptional situation” that is being experienced around the world due to the health crisis.
In this sense, he stated that with the postponement of the tests it is intended to continue maintaining the “commitment to the health of all athletes and people in the organization.” In any case, he stressed that they will continue to “work intensely to offer all participants a 100 percent safe and unforgettable experience, as long as the health situation allows it.”
On the other hand, Club La Santa has also been forced to suspend the XVII 4 Stage Mountain Bike Race Lanzarote, the only S1 event of the International Cycling Union held in the Canary Islands, which although initially was scheduled for January 23, It has been decided to leave its celebration for Saturday, May 29, and it will end on Tuesday, June 1, 2021, “as long as the epidemiological situation allows it.”
In this case, also all those registered on the initial date will be able to participate on the new date “without any additional cost”, while those who wish to do so may opt for a full refund of the amount of their registration.
Likewise, those who wish may formalize their registration for May 29.
