During a telephone conversation on Wednesday, Xi said his country has taken strict control and treatment prevention measures, that it is conveniently reporting the evolution of the outbreak and that it has done the same with the World Health Organization (WHO) and with the possible affected countries.

According to local media, Macron and Merkel showed their support for China in their fight against the new coronavirus causing "Wuhan pneumonia," which has already caused at least 17 deaths and almost 600 affected in China.

Both Germany and France would have shown their willingness to support the Asian country to contain an outbreak that, at midnight Wednesday local time (GMT +8), had infected 571 people in 25 provinces and regions of the Asian country, according to the National Commission of Health of China.

The symptoms of the new coronavirus, called 2019-nCoV provisionally by the World Health Organization (WHO), are in many cases similar to those of a cold, but may be accompanied by fever and fatigue, dry cough and dyspnea (difficulty breathing ).

Abroad, at least 4 affected have been detected in Thailand, and one in each of these countries: Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and the United States.

WHO will continue today with its expert meeting to determine whether it is necessary to declare an international alert for the virus.
