In a further attempt to relax tensions between China and the United States, the Customs Tariff Commission announced today that it will exclude some agricultural products such as soybeans and pork from additional tariffs on US products.
Last Wednesday, China announced that it was postponing one year – until September 2020 – the application of tariffs to 16 US products, whose levies were scheduled to take effect next Tuesday.
Among the goods affected by the 25% tariff delay planned to enter into force on September 17 were minor products such as fish feed or raw materials necessary for the manufacture of cancer drugs, a list that has been extended today to key products in trade between the two powers.
