The curfew in Catalonia will continue beyond 15 days. The Minister of Health, Alba Vergés, has taken for granted the extension of this measure that was adopted on October 25, after the approval of the state of alarm by the central government.
“The state of alarm raised this possibility and we put it as a measure, but it must be combined with the rest of the measures and try to maintain them for a while,” said Vergés on Radio 4. In this sense, he has also advanced that they are evaluating how extend the rest of the measures, such as the perimeter confinement of the municipalities at the weekend.
When asked about the opening of the restaurants and the bars, which are also closed, she has not ruled it out, but has made it clear that “you can’t run.” At the moment, the speed of the virus transmission in Catalonia has moderated, but the community continues with very high numbers of infections and an incidence of 812 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last 14 days.
