The Government of Castilla-La Mancha has shown its "respect" for the demonstration but has added that, once the Tagus Basin Plan has been approved by the Water Council of the Hydrographic Confederation, "there is little room for maneuver" and that "nobody would understand" that there were changes in what was agreed by a "vast majority".

This is how the Minister of Agriculture, Water and Rural Development, Francisco Martínez Arroyo, spoke to questions from the media at a press conference on Monday, adding that what was agreed is "reasonable" for everyone and that the existence in Levante of desalination plants to be able to meet the water needs of "fundamental irrigation" for the country is "sufficient guarantee" for agriculture to continue.

"The figures that are put on the table by some who politicize this issue in an interested way in Levante, are so excessive that they do not respond to reality in any case", said the counselor, who has shown his satisfaction with new after the approval of the Tagus Basin Plan. It is an argument similar to the one used by the Castilian-Manchego presidentEmiliano García-Page, who a few days ago assured that "The misuse of water in some parts of Spain is a scientific argument, not a cheap speech" when referring to Murcia's intention to resort to the Plan del Tajo.

“I am very satisfied because it is the first time that we have participated in decision-making in terms of water and, secondly, because the ecological flow that has been established for the Tagus as it passes through Aranjuez is very reasonable and will allow that the river is alive at the same time that we maintain a stable sheet of water in Entrepeñas and Buendía well above the current one”, he argued.

Finally, he has extended his command to Levante to "work together" from solidarity. “No one is more supportive than Castilla-La Mancha”, she has settled.
