The mayor of Madrid, Manuela Carmena, entered the afternoon of Sunday at the Hospital de la Princesa due to a relapse of the ankle infection from which she was operated last Wednesday, according to several media in their digital editions.
Apparently, the mayor suffered a high fever yesterday as a result of a possible infection, which led to the emergency department of the Hospital de la Princesa, where he entered for observation.
There, and according to the same sources, Carmena was given antibiotic treatment and, in case of fever, the mayor will be discharged on Monday, so that she could enjoy New Year's Eve at home.
The mayor of Madrid was intervened at the University Hospital of La Princesa on December 26 in an operation in which the fractured area, the right ankle, was fixed by "osteosynthesis with plate and screw".
Carmena broke her ankle on Friday the 21st when she fell at her home. It is the second fall suffered by the mayor in just a few months, because in September she had to be admitted, also in the Princess, to make a breach in the forehead after falling at home.
