Santana, 74, was about 40 minutes into the concert at the Pine Knob Music Theater in Clarkston, Michigan, northwest of Detroit, when he had to receive medical attention after fainting. Approximately twenty minutes later, he was carried off stage on a stretcher, a moment that was captured on the phones of those in attendance. In the images you can see Santana waving.

Those responsible for the concert then warned that the rest of the show was cancelled.

The 74-year-old musician was a pioneer in merging Latin rhythms with the rock genre in the band of the same name that he founded in 1966 and, since then, his figure and his music have received all possible recognition. Among others, they include that of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and that of the list of the 100 best guitarists in history, prepared by the Rolling Stones magazine.
