Carcedo alert of the "deficit" in compliance with the anti-smoking law

The Minister of Health, Social Welfare and Consumer Affairs, María Luisa Carcedo, warned this Sunday that in Spain there is a "deficit" in compliance with the anti-smoking law.

In statements to journalists in Oviedo, on the occasion of his attendance at the "Move for health" career, he has insisted that the laws in force, the one passed in 2005 and the one stiffened in 2010, must be complied with, although he has specified that Asturias It is the most diligent community in this regard.

The minister has defended that inspections on the terraces be facilitated and that the new vaping devices be regulated.

On the other hand, he pointed out that the procedures are being finalized so that the National Health System (SNS) service portfolio includes for the first time a medicine to help quit smoking.

The acting minister has expressed the importance of being prescribed by primary care professionals and, therefore, "the treatment is systematized."

"The medicine is a help, but it must be approached by professionals," said Carcedo.

Finally, he has hoped that, after the November 10 elections, the State can count on general budgets so that it can recover "the path of proper financing" of the National Health System.
