Canary Islands adds seven deaths from covid and 939 new cases in three days

Currently, 232 people with the disease are hospitalized in the archipelago, 15 in the ICU and 217 on the ward.

The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands, following the new indicators included in the Surveillance and Control Strategy for covid-19, agreed by the Ministry of Health with the autonomous communities, reports that since the last data update last Tuesday have been recorded in the Archipelago
939 new positives in covid-19 among people over 60 years of age, which is the population group that is followed up after passing the acute phase of the pandemic.

Therefore, the accumulated number of cases of coronavirus among this group in the Canary Islands amounts to
66,511 people. Thus, the Cumulative Incidence for this age group at 14 days stands at 807.37 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and at 7 days at 381.98.

Currently, in the Archipelago there are 232 people admitted with coronavirus, of which 15 are in the ICU and the rest, 217, on the ward. On the other hand, the Canary Islands register a total of
seven deaths since Tuesday, five in Gran Canaria and two in Tenerife. The deceased persons, aged between 66 and 91 years, had previous pathologies and were hospitalized.
