The Archipelago counts on today with a guide to integrate the perspective of gender in cultural projects. The initiative, pioneer in the Canary Islands, is a bet framed within the program Women and Culture of the General Directorate of Cultural Promotion of the Government of the Canary Islands to contribute to the achievement of equal opportunities in the sector. This was stated this morning during the act of presentation of the text by the General Director of Cultural Promotion, Aurora Moreno. "Today we provide this tool with the aim of becoming a practical and consultative tool for all those people who, in the exercise of their functions, want to incorporate the gender approach in the field of culture, whether personal of the public administrations as well as private entities, "he said.
The truth is that the guide has been prepared by the director of Social Studies-Geas 7, Francisca Galante, who was also present during the appointment. Based on the criterion of the architect, "the inclusion of the gender perspective in public management is a legal imperative that begins with the Spanish Constitution that establishes in article 14, equality and non-discrimination, and develops in standards such as the Organic Law 3/2007, for the effective equality of women and men and the Law 1/2010 Canaria de Igualdad ". He added that, "through the integration of the gender perspective it is intended to generate a different and plural vision of culture, making both women and men visible, seeking equity".
