Can you fire me if I'm off?

It's a fairly widespread belief, but it's wrong. The fact that a worker is out of work or in a situation of temporary disability does not, by itself, prevent the company from firing him. Different question are those absences related to maternity, in which case, the law does offer a reinforced protection, declaring the null termination and condemning the company to readmission.
