Cajasiete advances at no cost, POSEI aid to the livestock sector


This agreement is added to the direct aid granted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries.

As a result of the agreement that Cajasiete has joined with the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries of the Government of the Canary Islands, the Canarian farmers will be able to obtain liquidity through the advance payment of certain POSEI aid to the livestock sector.
The Canarian financial institution will carry out this action at no cost to its clients who benefit from the aid.

Alicia Vanoostende, Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of the Government of the Canary Islands, and Álvaro de la Bárcena, Deputy Minister of the Primary Sector, formalized this agreement, which will allow
Cajasiete forward these payments in the face of the complex situation that the sector is experiencing due to the increase in pricesof inputs and animal feed, which are added to the structural problems suffered by the livestock sector. This agreement is added to the direct aid granted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries.

Through this agreement, the livestock farms of the islands will be able to receive the payment of the POSEI Livestock aid, which historically does not become effective before the end of June. Specifically, Measure III 4.1 will be advanced to the milk industry of beef, second semester, Measure III 4.2 for beef producers, Measure III 5 for aid for human consumption of fresh meat from beef, pork and rabbit of local origin, Measure III 6.1 for the goat and sheep industry, second semester, and Measure III 6.2 of goat producers, all belonging to the 2021 campaign.

With the advancement of aid to the sector, it is intended to inject liquidity as quickly as possible to meet current expensesfor which the Government of the Canary Islands has already instrumentalized other direct aid to the sector.
