Election Tuesday. The announcement of elections in advance by the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, on May 4, has caused a rather anomalous situation, although not unprecedented: the holding of elections on a working day. People who have to attend their job that day have the right to paid leave of several hours to go to vote in case their hours coincide with those of the polling stations. Companies that deny this right to their employees face fines of up to 6,250 euros, explain from the Labor Inspection, but they could also be reported in court for violating a fundamental right.
Madrid recommends voting hours for positives and risk groups and does not see the use of PPE for the polling station members as “necessary”
