Budgets will end the waiting list of 270,000 dependents

The Minister of Health, Consumption and Social Welfare, María Luis Carcedo, has defended today that the draft of the State's general budgets for 2019 includes items to "eliminate" the waiting list of 270,000 dependents who have recognized the benefit but do not receive it.

After meeting with representatives of the third sector in Cartagena (Murcia), said that the Executive wants to end the "limbo" in which are the serious, moderate and intermediate dependents increasing the items for this, although the autonomous communities are also required to finance it.

He stressed that "the most resounding" is the situation of the large dependents who are "recognized with the right, have their classification, but do not receive services or benefits."

For Carcedo, it is necessary to "recover the spirit" of the Dependency Law, which has been modified 5 times, and the increase of incompatibilities between aid since 2012 with the objective, as has been attributed to the former Executive of the PP, to "restrict" its development and implementation.
