Buch expresses concern over alleged police follow-up on Torra on 10N

The Minister of Interior, Miquel Buch, has sent a letter to the Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, to convey his "concern" about the alleged follow-up of agents of the National Police to the President of the Generalitat, Quim Torra, during the day 10N election.

In the letter, to which Efe has had access, Buch points out that on November 10, when the general elections were held, the security service of the president of the Generalitat observed a vehicle that, "without any identification", parked in the security zone reserved for police vehicles assigned to Torra security.

He explains that, according to the information he has available, the Mossos agents "verified that the vehicle was occupied by three people who identified themselves as members of the National Police and exhibited the professional identification cards."

He then reports that, "after a short time and within the same day, the security team of the president of the Generalitat detected a second vehicle occupied by two people who also identified themselves as members of the National Police."

This vehicle was "a few meters behind the vehicles of the body of Mossos d’Esquadra" and made "the same route for about ten minutes," adds Buch.

"It will agree with me that these circumstances of space-time coincidence of two teams of professionals of the CNP in the vicinity of the President of the Generalitat are, at least, unusual if they are the result of a mere coincidence," said the Minister of Interior.

"And surprising if they are part of a device planned by CNP officials, since those responsible for the Mossos d'Esquadra did not have any information on this eventual device," he adds.

Buch finally expresses to Grande-Marlaska his desire to "prevent situations such as those indicated in the future from being repeated".
