Bizum, the payment system through the banking mobile, has opened the doors to electronic commerce. Specifically, to About 100 online stores where you can already pay for purchases with this service. This is a process of "30 seconds in which it is not necessary to enter account numbers or other identifications", the manager has specified.
At the moment, this service is available in stores such as Iberdrola, Decathlon and Yelmo Multicines. Others like Alsa will be incorporated soon. Further, The entity also plans to enable this type of payment in physical stores, although it first wants to consolidate the operation through the internet. In this regard, lThe Bizum roadmap focuses, on the one hand, on expanding the network of businesses enabled for online payment to 500 at the end of 2019 to reach 5,000 by 2020. As regards the number of users, Bizum expects an increase from 5.3 million with which it has today to 6 million at the end of the year, a figure that is expected to double in 2020. Some perspectives, according to the director of the entity, "very ambitious" that has conditioned to expand the company internationally. Nigorra has acknowledged that "it is not feasible to make the international leap in the short term", since there is no payment solution in Europe yet, but he pointed out that "it is feasible that in 2020 there will be some interoperability experience for Bizum", although not He has detailed what it could be.
On the rumors of his IPO, the company's director has explained that "he does not rule it out in the future" and that, as in any company, "it will be the board that decides whether to reinvest or offer dividends to its shareholders, banks". In this sense, Nigorra has stressed that the entity's shareholding core, consisting of 25 entities, "is quite stable and solid" and that the immediate IPO of the entity "is not on our road map."
Since its creation in 2016, users or "bizumers" have carried out 60 million transactions, for an amount of 3,100 million euros. Faced with this, Nigorra has added that, with the use of this application, "delinquency among friends has been improved" and "we have fostered friendship between people".
