Benzema surpasses Raúl and is already the fourth top scorer in the history of the Champions League

The French Karim Benzema continued his great streak this season - nine goals and seven assists in nine games - with his goal, from a penalty, in the defeat against Sheriff Tiraspol (1-2), which made him surpass a legend of the Real Madrid like spanish Raúl González Blanco in the list of top scorers of the Champions League (72).

The French occupies the fourth position in the historical classification led by the Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo (136) followed by Argentine Leo Messi (121) -who scored his first goal with the Paris Saint-Germain shirt in the victory against Manchester City (2-0) and the Pole Robert Lewandowski (75).

Benzema has scored in 17 consecutive editions of the 'Champions', 12 goals in his beginnings with him Olympique de Lyon and 60 with the Real Madrid shirt.

A bitter goal from the Frenchman in the 65th minute of the match as it did not serve so that his team could add in front of a modest Sheriff that gave the surprise when winning 1-2 in Santiago Bernabéu.
