The professor of University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC), Beatriz González López-Valcárcel, has been included again in the Top 100 Women Leaders in Spain, specifically in the sector of Thinkers and Experts. It is an initiative that leads Mercedes Wullich, director and founder of Women and Cia portal, which promotes the presence of women in all areas.

The ranking, which in 2018 is in its seventh edition, is divided into ten categories: academic and research; high direction; culture, leisure and sport; directives; businesswomen public, institutional and political function; media; thinkers and experts; revelation and entrepreneurs; and third sector.

This is the second consecutive year in which Professor Beatriz González López-Valcárcel is included in this ranking, leading the category of 'Thinkers and Experts'. Other relevant women included in the Top 100 are Alicia Kaufmann (Academics and Thinkers), Antonella Pucarelli (Senior Management), Almudena Grandes (Culture, Leisure and Sports), Alice Faveau (Directives), Alicia Koplowitz (Businesswomen), Carmen Calvo (Function Public, institutional and political), Ana Blanco (Media), Alicia Asin (Revelation and Entrepreneurs) and Ana María Pérez del Campo (Third Sector).

Beatriz González López-Valcárcel is Professor of Quantitative Methods in Economics and Management of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. It develops research in health economics, mainly related to smoking, l drug use or health management, among others. She has been a health economics consultant in Mexico, Brazil, Costa Rica, Chile and Mozambique.

He has also been part of the Health Advisory Council of the Ministry of Health in Spain, representative of the Canary Islands in the Consultative Committee of the National Health System and President of the Spanish Association of Health Economics. Among other awards, has received the Grand Cross of the Civil Order of Health, by agreement of the Minister council in November 2011.

The ranking of the Top 100 Women Leaders was announced on October 24, 2018 with the celebration of the 7th Top 100 Women Leaders in Spain, at the Repsol Campus Auditorium in Madrid.
