Bankia has brought to justice a former director of the entity for having allegedly granted 50 million in loans to companies in its environment, bypassing the company's risk control systems. The entity is involved in a case against this former worker for alleged fraud and documentary fraud, as anticipated by El Confidencial and sources confirm the entity to this medium.
The person involved is a former risk manager of the territorial division of the central area. The entity itself detected irregularities in the management of this worker after he left in the early retirement plan of the entity in 2016. After that, he transferred the case to the Sepblac, the Bank of Spain and the ECB.
In addition to the 50 million that are part of this cause, they investigated other so many millions granted in suspicious credits, although without enough data to open a criminal case. This worker eliminated aspects of the operations in order to avoid the risk control alarms of the financial group jumping.
Sources of the company point out that they were the ones who denounced the case and that since then the control mechanisms and the risk warning have been updated. With this, they consider that a case of this type could no longer occur.
