Bal warns that the Civil Guard, as a judicial police, cannot “be held accountable” to Marlaska: It may be a “crime”

In an interview on TV3, collected by Europa Press, Bal said that “it is very tricky to interfere with a judge’s investigation”, specifically in which he investigates the possible incidence of the 8-M demonstration in Madrid in the pandemic due to covid-19, Carmen Rodríguez-Medel.

The leader of the orange formation has expressed himself this way after being asked about the dismissal “for loss of confidence” to the head of the Madrid Civil Guard command, Colonel Diego Pérez de los Cobos. Sectors of the Armed Institute relate the cessation to the judicialized and declared secret reports on the feminist 8-M demonstration and the management of the head of the Ministry of Health, Fernando Simón, in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic.

“It is not the moment to make qualifications but to launch soon and knowing the facts in a superficial way, until Marlaska does not indicate the true causes (of the cessation), the instruction of criminal cases indicated by the law in article 301 is secret. A revelation of secrets would give material to carry out an investigation for the perpetration of crime, “he warned.

Rodríguez-Medel herself sent an official letter to the Secretary of State for Security on Monday, recalling that since this investigation began, she gave an express order to the Civil Guard, which acts as judicial police in the case, to “keep a rigorous reservation” on the investigations. entrusted, and warns that the breach of said duty may lead to criminal liability.

Along these lines, Bal has maintained that the dismissal of Pérez de los Cobos is “arranged in a stereotypical manner” and without “content because trust is subjective.” “Precisely asking me, he imagines that the dismissal is similar for reasons of trust,” said the State attorney.

Bal, who defended accusing the independence leaders of the crime of rebellion, was dismissed by the Government as head of the Criminal Division of the State’s legal services when opposing the criterion of accusing the leaders of the ‘procés’ for the crime of sedition.

“They must explain things taking into account that we find it worrisome at the moment we are. The State Security Forces and Bodies are doing a commendable job in the national territory, enforcing sanitary restrictions,” he pointed out, and later pointed out that the dismissal of the colonel does not seem “the most opportune”.
