Backpacks filled with Disa and Red Cross

The DISA Foundation and the Red Cross in the Canary Islands facilitate, for the seventh consecutive year, the start of the new academic year for families with fewer resources through the ‘Full backpacks’ project. 2,500 families in the archipelago with minors in their care will be able to benefit from this initiative for which the DISA Foundation has allocated 140,000 euros. The director of the Foundation, Sara Mateos, and the regional president of the Red Cross in the Canary Islands, Antonio Rico, yesterday presented a new edition that presents the delivery of vouchers or prepaid cards as the main novelty compared to previous years. These grants are not limited to the beginning of the course, they extend throughout the academic year. There are items for speech therapy, pedagogy, psychology, occupational therapy, early care or alternative therapies, and recreational-educational activities during the holidays next summer. According to Sara Mateos “at the DISA Foundation we remain firm in our commitment to education, understanding that it is the main tool for collective and individual success, for the construction of a full future.”
