Bachar Al Asad woman overcomes breast cancer

Asma al Asad, wife of the Syrian president, Bachar al Asad, announced that he has "completely" overcome breast cancer that was diagnosed a year ago.

"My trip has ended with all its pain, fatigue, its negative and even positive aspects; thank God it's over … I have completely defeated cancer," he said in an interview with Syrian television broadcast today by the SANA state agency.

Cancer was detected when he was in an early stage, as he regularly underwent medical check-ups, in line with the message he used to spread among women as an activist in favor of early disease detection programs.

On numerous occasions since the beginning of the war in Syria in 2011 it has been rumored that Al Asad's wife had left the country for security reasons and even when the conflict broke out she pointed to the possibility that she had left her husband Because he opposed the conflict.

However, she has remained with her husband throughout the conflict and has shown her support for the president in numerous public events.

Asthma was born in the United Kingdom and moved to Damascus in late 2000 to marry Bachar, with whom he has three children.
