THE RETURN OF AVIAN FLU
On February 4, 2003, an eight-year-old girl who was traveling with her family in the Chinese province of Fujian suddenly became ill and died. While his death was being investigated three days later, the girl's father, 33, developed respiratory problems. On February 11, he entered the hospital with acute pneumonia. He died six days later. During the autopsy, doctors found traces of the H5N1 virus in his body.
