The car rental company AutoReisen has been awarded by the readers of the British newspaper The Telegraph as 'Best Car Hire Provider' in the world. This is the first time in the history of these awards, which are already celebrating their XXI edition, that a Spanish company receives this award. On previous occasions some hotel companies in Spain had been nominated, but never before had a Spanish organization been awarded.
Since 1998, The Telegraph, considered one of the deans of the British press, recognizes the best tourism providers. In this way, The Telegraph Travel Awards have become one of the oldest and most prestigious awards in the sector. The votes are made by its readers, specifically, subscribers with more than two years old, who are given the opportunity to value those tourist companies that have most impacted on their travels. As a novelty this year, the category of 'Best Car Rental Company in the World' was included, an award that recognizes the excellent service, attention and quality of car rental companies.
The awards ceremony, held recently at The Magazine, in London's Hyde Park, was attended by representatives of nominated companies from around the world and the presentation by the head of the travel section of The Telegraph, Claire Irvin, along with the famous British writer and explorer Benedict Allen. During the ceremony, Irvin pointed out that "this has been another fantastic year for the awards, with thousands of readers participating in one of the most extensive and editorially independent travel surveys in the world. The results confirm that travelers have a prolific and curious attitude , and the consistency of the winners is demonstrated with this recognition by travelers who have explored the world. "
For his part, the executive president and founder of AutoReisen, Antonio Cabral Betancor, after receiving this precious award, said that "like the process by which these awards are awarded is a transparent process where the reader believes, freely and independent, in AutoReisen we also share this purpose, since we are convinced that the client asks for transparency and quality at the time of renting a car during his trips ". Antonio Cabral said that the British market is the most important for both Spain and in particular for the Canary Islands, and therefore, "to obtain this recognition as the best rent a car company in the world, taking into account that both our headquarters and the place where we provide service is in the airports of the Archipelago, it is a great joy since among all the car rental companies in the world, many of them internationally known, they have chosen us ".
It is not the first time that Antonio Cabral receives a high recognition: he was a Gold Medal of the Canary Islands 2018 as an example of a vocational entrepreneur, work capacity and refined instinct to manage efficient teams. Likewise, the company has also been awarded with different prizes, as the best car rental company worldwide awarded by English and German tourist entities. According to the company's executive president, "AutoReisen is committed to innovation and we are leading in R & D & I, in fact we have patents registered worldwide and we are still researching to offer a better service, adding new products to the car rental sector ". But innovation must always be accompanied by quality service. In this sense, the founder of AutoReisen added that "this award is an example and a sign that from the Canary Islands we can be the best in the world. But it will only be possible with constancy and maintaining excellent quality standards to satisfy a demanding customer. We have set up unfettered processes that make the work flow quickly. This way we gain time and offer something better to our users. The customer thanks you and for that, repeat "
During the awards ceremony, the directors of The Telegraph themselves explained to Antonio Cabral the details of the careful and transparent process of selecting the nominees and the final winners. The alma mater of AutoReisen took the opportunity to comment on the challenges facing the rent a car sector in the Canary Islands, in particular the problem of mobility in the Islands, where he did not hesitate to insist that "the solution of the mobility of the Canaries we have a good car rental service. Every morning we can find in our airports many canaries that travel between the Islands to make arrangements in different administrations, visit doctors, hospital appointments, training tests, university students, and even people who simply they come for family reasons. They all need a vehicle for their trips and they are our second largest customer, after the British. " In addition, he added, "the orography of the island's land, poor communications by public transport, the concentration of population movements in urban or tourist centers and the remoteness of the rest of the populations, makes rent a car companies become in a service of great added value for the Canaries themselves, not only for tourists. It provides freedom of movement in the daily lives of many residents. Not to mention the distribution of wealth generated in the tourism value chain since allows the traveler to reach more remote points. " He also commented that "it is a service that if it suffers variations in the price, or a tax increase, in the end it has a negative and direct impact on the user."
