The Principality of Asturias will request the region’s High Court of Justice (TSJA) for a curfew between 1 and 6 in the morning in those municipalities that will foreseeably enter in the next few days in a situation of extreme risk due to COVID, in which The grouping of people will also be restricted to six indoors and ten outdoors, and the holding of mass events will be limited.
As the health authorities have explained at a press conference, these restrictions will come into force once Asturias passes the medium alert level for hospital occupancy – more than 5% of COVID patients in the ward and 10% in the ICU – something that they foresee that it will begin to occur from this weekend.
The councils with more than 10,000 inhabitants who are, from then on, another three days with a cumulative incidence over fourteen days of more than 350 cases per hundred thousand inhabitants will automatically enter at risk level 4+.
At the moment there are seven councils of more than 10,000 inhabitants that already present a very high risk of transmission, with a population of about 371,000 inhabitants: Gijón, Gozón, Carreño, Villaviciosa, Langreo, Laviana and Cangas del Narcea.
In the case of councils with less than 10,000 inhabitants, of which another sixteen are in the same situation, the Ministry of Health will individually assess the situation of each municipality to decide whether to enter level 4+.
According to the latest data, Asturias has a hospital occupancy due to COVID of 3.99% or in the ward, that is, practically at a point of reaching risk level 2, and 6.71% in the ICU, just over three points.
The head of Health Alerts and Emergencies, Miguel Prieto, has pointed out that the foreseeable thing is that the community will enter level 2 (medium risk) of hospital occupation in the coming days, at which time “the countdown would begin” for entry in situation 4+ the municipalities that maintain a very high risk of transmission.
The Ministry of Health has recalled that the establishment of the limitation of night mobility between 1 and 6 in the morning will require the endorsement of the Superior Court of Justice of Asturias (TSJA), which will request authorization once the councils meet the requirements for your input on the 4+.
In addition, the Principality would maintain the general closure of the interior of nightlife establishments for the entire autonomous community and will review together with the municipal authorities the risk of holding certain mass events, such as the Trade Fair.
Depending on the level of risk involved in holding such events, the health authorities will consider “adapting” them or even suspending them.
