Asturias investigates a mild outbreak in a residence whose inmates had been vaccinated

The Epidemiology Service of the Government of the Principality of Asturias investigates the origin of a coronavirus outbreak detected in the El Nadal residence, in Langreo. This is the first to be produced since the end of last February. Of the total of 25 residents, all of them vaccinated, eight have been infected. Of them, one has required hospital admission and the rest remain asymptomatic.

Despite this outbreak, the regional government has announced that it will make the visits, departures and entries of new users more flexible in the network of nursing homes in the Principality as of April 9, as planned.

The one in Langreo has been the first outbreak in a nursing home in Asturias in more than 40 days and once the vaccination process has been completed among workers and users of the 270 centers for the elderly that are distributed throughout the community, of which 96% have already completed the two-dose regimen.
