«We are in the year 50 before Jesus Christ. All Gaul is occupied by the Romans … All? Do not!". This is how the most famous Gallo albums in the world begin: Asterix. He, along with the rest of the village gala celebrates its 60th anniversary this year. Six uninterrupted decades of fun since it appeared for the first time on October 29, 1959 in the magazine «Pilote». The undisputed merit belongs to its creators: René Goscinny and Albert Uderzo. Together they created stories that have caught millions of readers around the world. After the death of the irreplaceable Goscinny in 1977, Uderzo continued as the complete author. His first album, "The great ditch" (1980), achieved a sales success, although not so much criticism. And it is that from the first moment it was evident that Uderzo, an artist of indisputable talent, was not as skilled as a screenwriter. Although it never reached the level of excellence of the deceased screenwriter, his adventures continued to be published with millions of sales figures. The age and certain family conflicts made Uderzo stop being at the head of the Asterix comics in 2005, to leave it in the hands of a new artistic team. Thus, in 2013 appears the first album signed by the screenwriter Jean-Yves Ferry and the cartoonist Didier Conrad. To date they have published three albums and a quarter is announced for October 24 of this year, always under the supervision of Uderzo, coinciding the 60 years of the French hero. It will be the 38th of the adventures of the Gallic warriors. The title of the work has not yet been revealed. We have to wait for the next informative pill that the French publisher wants to offer us to increase the information ball of the anniversary. A long-awaited anniversary of a character that is published in one hundred and eleven languages and dialects. Being "Asterix" the most translated comic in the world.
