Asempleo expects the unemployment rate to rise to 14.6% at the end of 2019

The employer of private employment agencies Asempleo foresees that the unemployment rate closes 2019 in 14.6% of the active population, which would mean an increase of two tenths compared to the end of 2018 and the first rise since 2012.

In statements contained in a statement, the president of Asempleo, Andreu Cruañas, says that the slowdown of the labor market in 2019 is a fact and is one of the main threats for 2020.

However, it predicts that employment will tend to rebound at the end of the first quarter of 2020, following the weak job creation in the fourth quarter.
