The leader of Cs in Catalonia, Inés Arrimadas, considers that with her speech at the end of the year the president of the Generalitat, Quim Torra, "is ratified in the separatist challenge and insists on continuing with the coup".
"He ignores most of the Catalans and asks his people to rebel," Arrimadas wrote in his Twitter profile, in which he warns that while the Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, "does not react, we will have a public danger at the head of the Generalitat ".
In his first institutional speech at the end of the year as president of the Generalitat, Quim Torra has appealed to the "unity of the democrats" to achieve in 2019 "the democratic mandate of freedom", and has asked the Spanish government "will to face a credible, sincere and courageous dialogue "that enables" a democratic and political solution ".
Before the imminent beginning of the trial of the independence leaders, Torra has insisted on his innocence and has asked the citizens to "redouble times and efforts to take the initiative again".
In this sense, he has called to "rebel against injustice and bring down the walls of oppression."
