Arrested a couple in Iran because the young man proposed to his girlfriend in public
Iranian police arrested a couple due to committing themselves in public marriage, an act considered "contrary to Islamic norms," local media reported on Monday.
The police explained that the arrest was carried out due to "the demands of the people", after the dissemination in the social networks of the images of the marital commitment, which was carried out in a shopping mall in the city of Arak, in the center of Iran.

A police source quoted by the local media explained that the agents had to intervene because "that degenerate act of Western culture endangered public morals"
"The two young men were arrested and brought before the judicial authority," the source added, noting that they have been released on bail until the "final verdict" is issued.
