Aragonès detaches the dialogue table from the expenditure ceiling and rules out anticipating the direction of the ERC vote

In an interview in the SER Chain, collected by Europa Press, the Catalan vice president has ruled out anticipating the meaning of the vote of the sovereigns in the Plenary session in which the Government intends to take another step towards the approval of the General State Budgets .

“The approach will be announced by our deputies,” said Aragonès, who did not want to link the dialogue between Govern and Central Executive with the approval of the expenditure ceiling. “There is an agreement that allows the table, which yesterday was launched. But on the issue of Budgets there are many issues to discuss,” he said.

In this context, Aragonès has warned the Government of Pedro Sánchez about the possibility of negotiating public accounts in the middle of the electoral campaign for regional elections in Catalonia.

“We understand that if there is a willingness of the Government to undertake the approval of the Budgets and coincides with the electoral campaign it is more difficult because it can be mixed and it is not the best time to sit down to negotiate,” said the Catalan leader.

However, Aragonès has stressed that there are a number of “needs” that need an answer. “Everything that allows us to improve the living conditions of the citizens of Lleida, Girona and also for one of Segovia, delighted and perfect”, has settled.

On the other hand, the vice president has referred to the first meeting of the dialogue table that was set up on Wednesday, a first meeting that was “intense” and “positive.” “Each part we put on the table which is our approach to the conflict,” he said.

In this sense, Aragonès has explained that this new stage opens with an “important commitment” by both parties, that they have a “very firm” decision to work “in that space”.
