Anti-corruption opens an investigation into Luis Rubiales about his management at the head of the Football Federation

The Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office has opened investigative proceedings after receiving a complaint filed against the president of the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), Luis Rubiales, about his management at the head of the organization and in relation to the contract for the celebration of the Spanish Super Cup in Saudi Arabia.

The opening of these investigations implies that the Public Ministry will begin to investigate to later decide whether to file the matter or prosecute it so that the investigation continues in court.

Tax sources have informed Efe of the initiation of these proceedings, according to the newspaper El Independiente, after the president of the National Training Center for Football Coaches (CENAFE), Miguel Ángel Galán, filed a complaint for crimes such as corruption between individuals, unfair administration, prevarication or bribery.

The proceedings also extend to the payment of the rent of the house where Rubiales lived in the center of Madrid, according to the sources.

Galán went to Anticorruption after the publication of various information by the newspaper El Confidencial regarding the management of Rubiales and the Barcelona footballer Gerard Piqué for the organization of the aforementioned competition.

The documents published a few weeks ago indicated that the contract signed for six years with the Saudi public company, Sela, guaranteed the amount of 40 million euros for each edition to the RFEF and 4 for Kosmos, a company of which Piqué is co-owner.
