Another record day with 2,957 positives and eight deaths in the Canary Islands

The Ministry of Health of Canary Islands Government has notified this Thursday 2,957 new cases of covid and eight deaths in the last hours. The spread continues on the island of Tenerife, where 1,855 infections were detected, while in Gran Canaria the number also increased to 766 cases. In the last seven days, Tenerife has added 8,833 new cases and points out that it could go to alert level 4. Gran Canaria, for its part, continues with its exponential growth and adds 3,195 cases in the last seven days.

You have to regret eight deaths with covid in the last hours, four in Gran Canaria and two in Tenerife, with which the total number of deaths with coronavirus 1,104.

With the increase in infections, hospital pressure also rises. With 21,595 active cases, the highest figure in the entire pandemic, there are currently 355 hospitalized for covid in the islands. 301 of them are on the floor while 54 are recovered in the ICU. The Accumulated Incidence (AI) at 7 days rises to 610.03 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and the AI ​​at 14 days to 868.54 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

By Islands, Tenerife continues with its exponential growth with 1,855 cases and reaches 12,987 assets. Gran canaria sum 766 and assets close to 6,000 (5,975). Lanzarote registers 161 new cases (767 active); Fuerteventura adds 84 cases (1,462 active); La Palma detects 57 new positives (264 active); El Hierro adds 15 cases (48 active); Y La Gomera registers 19 new infections (90 active).
