Animalists denounce that a horse has fainted in Palma and that it has been forced to serve again

The animalist party Progress in Green has denounced on social networks the fainting of a horse in the center of Palma this Sunday. The animal, after collapsing in front of the Balearic Parliament, has been forced to serve again, instead of being cared for, according to Progreso en Verde.

It is another horse that adds to the list of crashes throughout the summer in the Balearic community, after the one reported on July 24 before the impassivity of the tourists, mounted on the top hat.

The current situation is also affected by the incidence of heat waves. In 2019 the Palma City Council approved a decree that prohibited the circulation of carriages between 12 noon and 5 pm on days when the AEMET decreed a yellow, orange or red alert due to heat. Three years later, after rejections by the Superior Court of Justice of the Balearic Islands (TSJIB) and a pandemic that slowed down the process, the ordinance has been approved. As of last August 25, Galleys will not be able to circulate in Palma when there are heat alerts.

The definitive eradication will come from 2024, when the carriages will become electric, thanks to an initiative by Citizens (with votes in favor of the City Council's governing team: PSIB, Més and Unides Podem).
