Canarias has registered this week 101 new outbreaks with 613 cases, of which 68 have been produced in Tenerife, 18 in Gran Canaria, eight in Fuerteventura, six in Lanzarote and one in El Hierro, according to data from the Ministry of Health.
By area in which they have occurred, 33 are labor outbreaks, 31 are of social origin, 22 family members, eight in socially vulnerable groups, five educational and two sports.
In general, all outbreaks have less than 10 associated cases except seven outbreaks that exceed that number, among which one stands out in the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Shelter with 67 people affected (10 workers and 57 users and family members), two educational in Tenerife with 11 and 14 cases, three work in Tenerife with 11, 11 and 10 people affected and one work in Fuerteventura with 11 positives.
Regarding job outbreaks, highlights one reported in a hotel in Fuerteventura with 11 cases (four workers and seven family members) and five in Tenerife: one with 11 positives in a catering establishment, one in a business that affects 10 people, two with nine cases each registered in two food companies and another with nine cases in a company dedicated to home care .
Of the five educational outbreaks, all with family branches, three have been notified in Tenerife with 14, 11 and eight cases, one in Lanzarote with seven positives and one in Fuerteventura with five affected people.
As for the two sports outbreaks, both registered in gyms, one affects seven people in Gran Canaria and the other has three cases and has been reported in Tenerife.
23 old outbreaks are also being followed, some of which have grown in number of cases. Thus, an outbreak of work origin in Gran Canaria affects 40 people, a sports one linked to a football club in Tenerife has 30 cases, a social one also in Tenerife registers 24 positives and a social one in Tenerife has 22 associated cases.
