International Amnesty has claimed the Government greater transparency on the data of migrants arriving on the Spanish coasts, their situation and number of people eligible for asylum and international protection.

The NGO’s head of internal policy, Virginia Álvarez, highlighted this Wednesday that in recent months many people have come to the Canary Islands fleeing hunger and human rights violations and “all of them deserve decent reception conditions”.

“They have the right to international protection and complete information about their rights”, has insisted.

In this process, for Amnesty International it is decisive and positive that “there is solidarity between the different communities to face this situation and to welcome those people who present a greater vulnerability “.

“The Government must act with transparency regarding the data, the situation of these people and how many of them are possible asylum seekers or victims of trafficking, for example,” he concluded.
