The foundation Amancio Ortega fully fund with 90 million euros the construction and equipment of seven residences designed by the Xunta de Galicia in the main cities of the community and that, in total, will add 900 new places for the public network of Galicia.
This has been ratified this Friday with the signing of a collaboration agreement in Santiago, in an event in which the first vice president of the Foundation, Flora Pérez Marcote, the president of the Xunta, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, and the councilor of Social Policy, Fabiola García.
After the signing of the agreement, Núñez Feijóo stressed to those present that "the public service" is in "all layers" of Galician society and stressed that with this "donation" "This minority is denied that it affirms that companies do not invest in the social sphere", in order to "enroll in the false myth of an inhuman private sector".
Along the same lines, the president stressed that "the key to the future is in the loyal collaboration between the public sector and the private sector ". Sources of the Amancio Ortega Foundation have ratified to Europa Press that this constitutes the largest "donation" that the entity makes to the Xunta de Galicia throughout its history and is also the largest single project of the foundation.
The seven public centers of Comprehensive Care for the Elderly will be incorporated into the autonomous public network. Total, will offer 900 residential places: 150 in Vigo and A Coruña and 120 in Ourense, Lugo, Santiago, Pontevedra and Ferrol. Its daily operation will allow the creation of more than 800 direct jobs in the sector.
