Almodóvar will inaugurate the Venice Film Festival and will compete with "Parallel Mothers"
Rome, Jul 19 (EFE) .- Spanish director Pedro Almodóvar will inaugurate the 78th Venice Film Festival with his latest film, Parallel Mothers and will aspire to the Golden Lion, the organizers of the contest announced today, between 1 and 11 September.
"I was born as a director in Venice in 1983 in the section 'Mezzogiorno Mezzanotte" and 38 years later I was chosen to open the Mostra. I can't express the joy, the honor of what this represents for me without falling into self-pity ", says the filmmaker.
