Alcoy, ready to receive the Kings in the oldest Cavalcade of Spain

The Alcoy town of Alcoy has everything ready to celebrate this afternoon the 134th edition of its Cabalgata de Reyes Magos, the oldest in Spain and declared a Festival of National Tourist Interest since 2001.

The parade will start at 6:00 p.m. and will go through the most central streets of the city, where Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar will fill with illusion and surprise the faces of the youngest, who will also see the 440 pages that serve Sus Majesties

These assistants will distribute hundreds of packages for the houses of the route, which they will access through their stairs of intense red, a hallmark of this Cavalcade.

In this parade will participate around 1,000 people who will see to it that all the magic flows in Alcoy. The most awaited moment of the act will arrive between 20:00 and 21:00 hours, in the so-called Adoration, at which time the Kings will descend from their dromedaries in the Plaza de España and will go to the Bethlehem portal.

There they will deliver gold, incense and myrrh to the Child Jesus, while Haendel's "Messiah" plays in the background and a castle of fireworks lights up.
