Alcoa workers ask for more pressure so that their demands are met



More than a hundred Alcoa workers have participated today in the concentration convened by the works committee before the headquarters of the Xunta de Galicia in Santiago de Compostela to demand greater political pressure to help the company to meet its demands in relation to the extinctive ERE that it plans to apply in its factories in A Coruña and Avilés.

The demonstrators, dressed in orange protest shirts, have staged a peaceful sit-in at the doors of the Galician government headquarters and, while waiting to be served by President Alberto Núñez Feijóo or by the Regional Minister of Economy, Employment and Industry, Francisco Conde ; they have sung different protest slogans.

"Closing no, energy solution" has been the most choreada proclamation and also the motto chosen for the banner that presided over the protest, in which they have come to use flares or boats of smoke.

"The solution, an intervention", has been another of the slogans shouted by the participants in the protest, which has also included disqualifying chants towards PSOE and PP and a challenging "See you at the polls" aimed at both parties.
