The jienense playwright and director Alberto Conejero (1978) has won the National Dramatic Literature Award, granted by the Ministry of Culture and Sports, for his work "The geometry of wheat", in which the jury has valued the construction of characters and his poetic style, reports Efe.
The jury of the award, endowed with 20,000 euros, has also appreciated in its ruling "the precise configuration and development of the plot, which brings together some stories that reflect the Spanish reality through three generations."
"The geometry of wheat", published in 2018 by the Dos Mustaches publishing house, part of a youth memory of the author's mother with whom he decides to embark on the adventure of turning it into a play, which they performed in February this year at the National Dramatic Center (CDN) Consuelo Trujillo, Zaira Montes and José Bustos, among others.
The young couple of architects formed by Joan and Laia (Bustos and Eva Rufo) cross Spain from Barcelona to a small town in the south to go to the funeral of the father of the first, but it is the trip itself that crosses them, making them reflect on the past and the ways of living and loving your own country.
He has a degree in Stage Management and Dramaturgy from the Royal Superior School of Dramatic Arts and a doctor from the Complutense, he is the author of works such as "Snow days"; "Every night of a day"; "The dark stone", Max Award for Best Theater Author 2016 and Ceres Award for Best Author 2016; "Ushuaia"; "Cliff (cliff)"; "Hungarians", or "Fever." Their texts have been released in countries such as Greece, United Kingdom, Chile, Mexico, Uruguay, Colombia, Paraguay, Argentina, Peru and Russia.
