Air Nostrum negotiates with the pilots to try to avoid the strike

Representatives of Sepla and the address of Air Nostrum They have been at 9.30 this Sunday gathered to try to reach an agreement that allows to call off the pilot strike planned as of tomorrow and that supposes the cancellation of 148 flights during the Holy Week, which will affect 10,000 passengers. This has been confirmed to Efe sources of the union of pilots, who has called 24-hour strikes in the Valencian company on 15, 16, 17, 22, 23 and 24 April to denounce the diversion of production that, in his opinion , carries out Air Nostrum to other airlines of the same owners. The company, which has confirmed that both parties had cited this morning, maintains 76.4% of the operation for the minimum services decreed by the General Directorate of Civil Aviation for days 15, 16 and 17 April, in full operation departure of Holy Week.

Air Nostrum reported last Friday, when it announced the flights canceled by the strike, that customers affected by these cancellations may opt for the reimbursement of tickets or for relocation on flights or alternative dates to fly until May 10, according to availability.

The minimum services include 100% of flights from or to the Balearic Islands, Canary Islands and Melilla and flights in Public Service Obligation in peninsular territories (Almería-Sevilla, Badajoz-Madrid and Badajoz-Barcelona). In addition, it includes between 29% and 31% of those operating between Spanish cities where the alternative is less than 5 hours and between 45% and 47% for those who exceed 5 hours and for those who join airports Spaniards with foreign cities.

Air Nostrum regretted the "inconveniences" caused to its customers and indicated that it maintains a "negotiating" attitude and does "everything possible" to try to stop the stoppages and minimize the disruption it may cause. If the stoppages are maintained, the company will publish next week the list of flights canceled for April 22, 23 and 24, in which there are also summoned stoppages.
