Air fares in Spain could experience a slight increase compared to 2018, although the forecast is to remain stable, according to a study by the American Express Global Business Travel consultancy.
In this sense, the study "Air Monitor 2019" suggests that this stability will be caused by a content growth of demand and an excess of capacity due to the high number of low cost airlines.
In Europe, despite the political and economic uncertainty derived from the "brexit", Business class fares could suffer slight increases, since the demand in flight is exceeding the growth capacity of the airlines, according to the study.
Another element that could stop the rise in air fares, especially in Europe and Asia-Pacific, is the emergence of low-cost airlines.
In this way, in European countries air routes will remain stable due, to a greater extent, to the growing competition and the presence of low cost or low cost companies.
